Orient Express Mattress

The Orient Express is a multi-component mattress. The permanently elastic cores (natural coconut and natural latex) allow for individual flexibility, even in a double bed. The climate hood contains climate-active natural materials (cotton, sheep's wool, horsehair and wild silk) and is placed over the flexible cores like a bathing cap.

Special feature: Two separate cores under a climate hood that covers the cores like a hood. The cores can have different hardnesses - and yet there is no annoying gap. The core provides flexibility and support, the climate hood is the climate and cuddle zone

3* pads cotton/virgin wool:

is cuddly and soft but not very durable, about 9 - 12 years. The pad does not retain its shape very well as the cotton collapses when pressure is applied. Cotton is also very absorbent, which makes it difficult to dry.

4* pads virgin wool/horsehair:

has a slightly firmer surface and retains its shape for a very long time. The pad can handle moisture very well and dries very quickly. It has a cooling effect in summer and quickly warms up in winter. Lifespan approx. 12 to 15 years.

5* wild silk/horsehair pads:

The cover is comparable to the 4* cover, but 40% wild silk is mixed into the wool, which provides an even greater cooling effect in summer. Lifespan 12 to 15 years.

Thank you, dear sheep! Sheep's wool ensures a great climate in bed. Its high ability to bind moisture means that the sheep can stay dry in the meadow even in the heaviest of downpours. We humans sweat an average of half a litre per night. No problem for the sheep's wool in our GEA mattresses, blankets and cushions. Material:

1. Natural coconut latex: consists of coconut fibers soaked in rubber milk, provides a firmer lying quality and is therefore ideal for people with higher body weight
2. Natural latex: is vulcanized rubber milk; is point-elastic and thus ensures support of the spine and optimal adaptation to the body shape
3. Cotton: contributes significantly to the sleeping climate; GEA cotton is certified free of insecticides and herbicides
4. Virgin wool: made from organic farming has a climate-regulating effect and has a natural self-cleaning power; can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture and can bind and neutralize other substances such as acids and bases
5. Wild silk: Silk cools better than any other material. Unlike wool, silk creates air chambers and dissipates body heat
6. Horsehair: only tail hair is used for the top quality. The dense, curly hair results in an even higher volume of stored air than with sheep's wool and therefore an even better moisture absorption
